ENVRI-FAIR project

Environmental research infrastructures building FAIR services for research, innovation and society (ENVRI-FAIR)

  • Start date: January 2019
  • End date: December 2022
  • Duration: 4 years

ENVRI-FAIR is a Horizon 2020 project launched at the start of 2019 to federate European research infrastructures focused on the environment and Earth system (atmosphere, oceans, solid Earth and biosphere/ecosystems.) It connects the Cluster of Environmental Research Infrastructures (ENVRI) to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). It is a four-year project, running from January 2019 to December 2022.

The project’s broad aim is to build a suite of FAIR data services at participating research infrastructures in order to improve how these principles are implemented by research scientists, with a view to supporting innovation, informing data- and knowledge-based decisions and connecting the ENVRI cluster to the EOSC.

Data Terra’s hubs are contributing to this project:

  • AERIS, through two of the main atmosphere data infrastructures, ACTRIS and IAGOS
  • ForM@Ter, through the EPOS and EMSO European solid Earth research infrastructures
  • ODATIS, with the Euro-Argo and SeaDataNet European ocean research infrastructures, directly part of the Marine Subdomain work package (WP9)
