GEO DATA TERRA OCCITANIE PROJECT
Proponents: CNES (coordinator), INRAE, IRD, CNRS, CIRAD
This CPER project aims to develop a distributed satellite data and services infrastructure able to store large volumes of data, open science based on FAIR principles and data lake services processing legacy, current and future satellite data for scientific communities and public and private stakeholders at regional, national (Data Terra, Infranum, GENCI/CINES), European (EOSP, Copernicus) and international (Mediterranean, Southern Nations) levels.

AIDA PROJECT
Bretagne Océane data science and AI infrastructure
The growing mass of Earth-observation, genomics, image and simulation data comes with increased demand for processing capacity to fully exploit their potential, in response to major technological and social challenges.
For example, the marine branch of the Data Terra infrastructure to which this project is contributing expects to see growth in excess of 50% in data volumes to be processed in the coming decade.
In this context, this project aims to address three challenges:
- Preservation: How do we store, archive and validate data and then make them accessible?
- Networking: How do we make these masses of data and processing resources accessible and interoperable at regional, national and international levels?
- Knowledge and services: How do we support creation of knowledge and services from these masses of data?
The distributed infrastructure proposed by the AIDA project will absorb the growing stream of data and provide high-performance, agile and interactive processing resources while encouraging the emergence of an ecosystem geared towards knowledge data and innovation, working with other research infrastructures (Data Terra, IFB, EMBRC FRAnce, Data Health Hub).
