The 2022 EGU brings together geoscientists from around the world for a meeting spanning all disciplines of Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geosciences.

AERIS participates in the 2022 edition of the EGU from May 23 to 26, 2022. Find all the presentations of scientists using AERIS data and also a general presentation of our atmosphere hub AERIS during the TownHall Meeting on Tuesday May 24 at 7 p.m. in room G1.
During this edition, the scientists involved in the projects of AERIS and its partners will present their work and their results:

  • Dynamics and chemistry of the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (UTLS): Ascending smoke vortices in the stratosphere, Australian smoke-charged vortex observations above New Zealand
  • Satellite observations of tropospheric composition and pollution, analyses with models and applications: Air Quality – From Science to Action, Detection of extreme events from IASI observations, Land use change and meteorology effect on atmospheric ammonia as seen by IASI
  • The 15 January 2022 Hunga Tonga Volcanic Eruption – Observation, Understanding and Impact of large explosive volcanic eruptions : Early evolution of the Hunga – Tonga Volcanic Plume from Lidar Observations at Reunion Island (Indian Ocean, 21°S, 55°E), Persistence Hunga Tonga plume in the stratosphere and its journey around the Earth.
  • Remote Sensing of Clouds and Aerosols: Techniques and Applications : Cloud detection from IASI radiance for climate analysis purposes
